Basil aromatherapy helps increase estrogen levels or to help improve your mood. This essential oil can also be helpful against hot flashes when diluted and applied to your feet or rubbed across the back of your neck.
3. Clary sage
Clary sage can also be used to ease hot flashes by rubbing three drops of diluted clary sage oil across the back of your neck or all over your feet.
You can add a few drops to a tissue or napkin and breathe in and out softly. This allows the oil to permeate your body through your nose. Women in menopause also have high risk of developing osteoporosis due to a drop in estrogen. Clary sage is also thought to help slow the development of this bone condition.
According to a 2014 study, postmenopausal women who inhaled citrus essential oil experienced fewer physical symptoms and an increase in desire. The women also experienced a decrease in systolic blood pressure and an improved pulse rate and estrogen concentrations. Geranium essential oil helps menopausal women manage hormonal changes. Simply apply one to two drops on a napkin and inhale slowly for fast stress relief. Geranium is also helpful for dry skin. While taking a hot bath, you can add a few drops of the diluted oil to the water.
